Nani in talks for BBB’s remake?

Nani is reportedly in talks to star in the remake of a blockbuster Hindi film Band Baaja Baarat.Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma had played the lead roles in the Hindi version. After the success of Naan Ee, Nani has become a noted face in Kollywood and quite a few filmmakers are keen on casting him. Already, he’s acting in the Telugu versions of Gautham Menon and Samuthirakani’s upcoming films. Now, Gokul, a former associate of Vishnuvardhan, has approached Nani to star in the remake of Band Baaja Baarat. Apparently, the director intends to remake the film in both Telugu and Tamil. However, Nani hasn’t signed the project yet since he’s currently busy with shooting of Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Krishna Vamsi’s untitled film and Jenda Pai Kapiraju. There’s also a buzz that Gokul has approached Parineeti Chopra to star in the remake. Lets wait and watch if this project materializes in near future.

Waiting For Another Role Like ‘Ghajini’: Asin

South Indian beauty Asin needs no introduction for her glamour and acting skills. She impressed millions of viewers with her performances in many movies. Asin then moved onto Bollywood to prove her mettle and ended up getting the lead role opposite Aamir Khan in the remake of ‘Ghajini’ which went on to become a blockbuster.

But stardom has eluded Asin in Bollywood, despite appearing in films that grossed over a 100 crores. When asked about it, Asin says “I appreciate all the roles I could do so far, but I want to perform in another role similar to the one in Ghajini. I am waiting for a role that demands good acting skills”.

Perhaps, Asin has realised that she desperately needs a magical film like ‘Ghajini’ to give the required boost to her career and image. Let us hope she succeeds in her endeavours.

Rajendra Prasad’s unique film

Natakireeti Dr. Rajendra Prasad is a true veteran of the Telugu film industry. He has appeared in various avatars, from comedy roles to serious drama in a career spanning several decades. More recently, he has been choosing movie projects that are unique like ‘Onamaalu’ and his latest appearance as a police officer in ‘Julai’ was very entertaining. He will now appear in the role of a retired Army major in the upcoming movie ‘Dream’. This is a very unique film with a very radically different look and you can see that from the movie’s posters.

Bhavani Shankar is the movie’s director and this film has been produced by Vijay Mainam and Satish Mainam. The producers said “We have never seen or heard of a movie as unique as this in the industry so far. Rajendra Prasad’s performance in the movie is splendid. He will be seen with a unique look. All programs pertaining to the censor review board have been completed and the members who watched the movie said that it was very good. We are making all preparations to release the movie this month itself”.

The director said “This is a thriller story. It revolves around a retired Army major who cuts all relations in his life. What changes occur in a person’s life surrounded by loneliness? What trouble does he go through emotionally? These are the elements that make the story a thrilling experience to watch”.

We can only wait to see whether Rajendra Prasad can weave his magic yet again on the silver screen.

Tamilians Say Rajamouli Better Than Shankar

The recent release 'Eega' has been causing a sensation all across India and a lot of focus has fallen on the man behind it, the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli. While the Tollywood circuit is holding its head high due to Rajamouli, many are comparing him with some of the big league moviemakers in India.

One among them is the showman of the south Shankar and reports say that even people from his region feel Rajamouli is the best. The talk is "Shankar is all about grandeur and visual appeal but Rajamouli is all about substance and generating that emotion. You will like a movie more when you get connected to the story and not just the onscreen appeal."

They add "Moreover, Rajamouli doesn't believe in larger than life subjects. He has the ability to choose a strong script with the optimum budget and perfect actors who suit the role than anything else. British dancer Scarlett Wilson performed an item number with Ram Charan in his upcoming movie “Yevadu“.
Scarlet is not entirely new to Indian cinema as she made her item number debut with the Imported Kamaria song in Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai which stars emraan hashmi and Abhay Deol.

So, how was it dancing with Ram Charan ?
“It was wonderful. Though I have a professional dancing background, Charan was unbelievable. He’s a phenomenal dancer and I feel blessed to work with a good dancer like him. It just went so smoothly. He even gave me dancing tips and was very sweet, encouraging and positive towards me,” says the British beauty.

Adding to Scarlett’s joy, her B-wood number “Imported Kamaria” is already the talk of the town. “Yes! I’m getting good feedback for the song and people are appreciating it. I remember, somebody recommended me to Dibaker for this song and when I was in London, I got a call from the production people. It sounded exciting, so I took it up. It was great to work with Dibaker,” she says.

The model-cum-dancer also wishes to work in Telugu films someday. Expressing her desire she says, “Though I’m getting offers from Bollywood and also going through a couple of scripts, I would love to work in a Telugu film too. And for that I would love to learn the language as well.“

Devi Sri Prasad is composing tunes for Yevadu, which already has the glamorous british actress Amy Jackson and Samantha as heroines.

Manish Malhotra designs trousseau for Ram Charan, Upasana

If the reports are to be believed, ace designer Manish Malhotra has been roped in to design the trousseau for Ram Charan and Upasna Kamineni, who tie the knot on June 14 at Upasana's farmhouse near Himayatsagar.

It is heard that the bride-to-be has been paying minute attention to her every outfit and even the members of both families are keen in their outfits for each and every function leading up to the wedding.

Delhi-based designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil are currently working on an outfit for Charan's sister, Srija. "As of now, we are designing an outfit for Srija that she will wear at the reception," Shantanu said. The Hyderabadi designer Shravan is desigining the outfits for the men in Charan's family - Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish and others.

Sir Osthara turns Sir Vachharu

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s proposed film Sir Osthara has been rechristened Sir Vachharu.

Initially, Trisha and Amala Paul was considered for the female lead, but both of then walked out of the project citing date issues. Latest reports suggest that the makers have finalised Kajal Aggarwal as the heroine.

Sir Vachharu will be directed by Parasuram and produced by Ashwini Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanti Movies. More details will be announced shortly and the film is expected to release during Pongal, 2013.

Good response to Damarukam pics

‘King’ Akkineni Nagarjuna’s big budget socio fantasy drama ‘Damarukam’ is gearing up for a July release and a new set of images were released yesterday. These new stills show some interesting sequences and the public response to them has been very good. Industry circles have been discussing the subject and people are now eager to see what magic Nag will pull off with ‘Damarukam’. “The stills look very exciting and production values appear to be rich.I am waiting for this movie”, said a noted distributor when we spoke to him.

The film is in the final stages of post production and the last song remains to be shot. Srinivasa Reddy has directed this movie while Dr. Venkat of R.R.Movie Makers is the producer. The movie’s budget is said to be in the region of more than 30 Crores, which makes it the most expensive in Nagarjuna’s career. Anushka is the heroine in the movie.

Shadow’s unit set to fly to Mumbai in June

Venkatesh’s upcoming film Shadow is going to be shot in Mumbai in June. Recently, the film unit was in Switzerland to shoot for couple of songs on Venkatesh and Taapsee. Meher Ramesh, who’s directing the film, revealed that a song will be shot from June 1 onwards under the guidance of Raju Sundaram. After this, the cast will begin shooting in Mumbai from June 17 onwards. Srikanth and Madhurima are also playing important roles in the film. Venkatesh is donning a new avatar in the film and the buzz is that he’ll be seen as a don. Parachuri Kireeti is producing the film on United Movies banner. Kona Venkat and Gopimohan have written the script. Thaman has scored the music.

There’s incredible buzz about the sequel to Balakrishna’s Aditya 369. The search for the lead heroine in the film is still on but reports suggest that Anushka has been almost confirmed to play the lead role in the film.
